For over 40 years, Dan has handled nearly every type of legal matter, including, but limited to, complex litigation in Federal and state courts throughout the country, merger and acquisitions and other transactional matters, loan workouts, and serving as general legal counsel to manufacturers, retail chains and smaller businesses owned and operated by an individual or a group of entrepreneurs. He uses his knowledge of many diverse areas of law and his experience as a successful trial attorney, in crafting solutions to the wide array of legal problems and issues that confront the Firm’s clients.
Area of Legal Concentration
Dan handles most types of business and commercial-related litigation, including such specialized areas as mechanics lien claims and landlord/tenant cases. A significant part of his practice involves counseling independent sales representatives on legal matters unique to their profession, such as: drafting, reviewing, revising and negotiating sales representative agreements; working on succession planning, mergers and acquisitions; and litigating commission collection cases throughout the country. Dan has recovered millions of dollars of unpaid commissions due independent sales representatives.
Dan serves as legal counsel to trade associations whose members are independent sales representatives and manufacturers who use them, including Manufacturers’ Agents National Association (MANA). Dan also is a well-known lecturer and author on topics relating to independent sales representatives . As noted below, Dan has spoken at numerous conferences to the members of many trade associations been a contributor to Agency Sales magazine and other industry-related publications.
